I thought people would get a kick out of seeing Mission Control (aka. my home office).
I have put a bit of work into it over the last few months which has included a furniture rearrange (off photo to the right), a new "across the desk" shelving unit which incidentally kill two bird with the one stone (explain further down), cable clean up both on the desk and the spaghetti nightmare below.
The three laptops all KVM to the centre monitor. Unfortunately as I'm using the Logitech di Novo keyboard and MX mouse (both Bluetooth usb dongle based) it's a PITA manual dongle change to swap between machines.
The three laptops in clockwise from the right are:-
- 2 month old Fujitsu T2010 - my new work machine and first tablet which I sooo love.
- Customer laptop - which I use as part of the day job.
- Old faithful HP Pavilion dv4000 - The work horse before the Fujitsu arrived.
Other bits and pieces include a conference phone with headset and my new Fujitsu Scanner.
The new shelving unit which I installed during my last holiday break was intended just to unclutter the desk and give me some extra space. After installing and setting all my gear back up I immediately noticed it happened to be the right height to prevent the annoying morning glare bouncing of the window sill. To say I was wrapped would be an understatement as I had already begun plans for blocking out half the windows to stop the very problem.
Well I hope you liked the tour and if anyone know of a KVM that supports the bluetooth mouse and keyboard give me a ping.
